Absence Planner configuration

The absence planner is configured using the Umana desktop platform. The configuration is stored in the Umana database. No configuration options are available from the web.

Configuration options (desktop platform) are in several places:

Admin > Tables > ETYPE

Here you configure the types of absences. They are simply event types (ETYPEs) with ECLASS="ABS".

  • You need to specify which ETYPEs are available on Umana web,
  • You also specify the related pay code, usually from the ABSENCE table. Read on...

Admin > Tables > ABSENCE

These are the absence pay codes, which employees use on their timesheet and see on their pay stub.

  • Some absences aren't always pre-planned and are not shown in the absence planner. The others, that do require advanced approval, will need an associated ETYPE (see above).

  • Some absences are controlled by the employee's time bank. The associate bank type is specified in the Destination field in the absence table.

  • Some absences have rounding rules requiring them to be taken in chunks of full-day, half-day, etc. Some of these rules are can be specified here in the ABSENCE table entry.

Benefits > Plans : Banks

  • These attendance plans configure many rules about employee banks. Rounding rules can also be specified here, with more choices available.

Administration > Options > Leave Planner

There are many important options here, including messages sent to the manager and to employees during the approval process.
